Jessica Simpson’s latest single “Come on Over” is a simple tune that is sung by someone that doesn’t seem to plan to make much of an impact in country music. She sang pop music for awhile and made a name for herself. Now that Jessica has decided to sing country her music isn’t much different other than a little more drawl or twang. “Come on Over” is one of those tunes that can be sung at any talent show for its basic notes. Just like Jessica this song has little or no depth at all. There’s not much to it. You can take it or leave it. Nothing great and nothing bad, just ok.

The video to “Come on Over” is very simple as well. The camera stays on Jessica’s face and body most of the time. Okay, the entire time. She tries to give her seductive look but in actuality she looks like this all of the time. Anytime she is posing for a camera, performing on a show, or giving an award at one of the music award shows she makes these faces that are awkward. I don’t think this girl really thinks this much of herself. She can’t. I hope not. She seems kind of goofy and likeable but not seductive in any way. I imagine she is probably a very simple minded girl that likes to sing and I find it sad that she has been told to look a certain way in order to bring in a larger fan base. Too bad. The song is ok, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to it. If Jessica wants to stick around in the music business she really needs to work on creative songs instead of her looks. She can sing which is why she didn’t end up like her sister Ashley. If she just put a little effort into making real music, whether it be country or pop, it will be amazing how successful she can really be.jessica_simpson_tape_4_big.jpg
