Erin Brockovich is Worth Seeing

erin2.jpgErin Brockovich was released in theatres in 2000 and won an Oscar for leading actress Julia Roberts. I saw the movie for the first time on cable. Even though I heard a lot of praise about it when it came out I never cared to see it. At the time I was sick of how everyone loved Julia Roberts and didn’t want to see anything she was in. Now that all of the talk about Roberts has blown over I must admit it was a great film. Roberts deserved the Oscar she got.

Julia portrays a real life character that was a single mother who manipulated her way into finding a job with a lawyer. She ends up finding out some important information when helping on a case that leads her to investigate into another case. Many residents end up with cancer of all sorts as well as other illnesses when using the contaminated water from the company PG&E. After spending many months investigating the case and losing time from her children she is able to get enough proof that the company is killing people knowingly. Eventually the lawyer, her boss takes the company to court for a shot at winning millions of dollars for all of the sick people and in some cases deaths. Essentially it was compensation money.

The film is well directed and well acted. You feel as though you are right there with them and enjoy every bit of the story. Much of story was fabricated or exaggerated but it is only based on the a real life woman in which the movie was named after. If you have never seen Erin Brockovich (the movie) take some time out to see it. It’s good.23235_as.jpg
